How did Charlotte Johnson's Tuition begin? In 2011, after a long day working at my part-time retail job in Derby, I was browsing the Internet when I read an article on a tuition website about private tuition. I realised that this was something I could have a go at as I had the experience and the qualifications in place. The article gave me the inspiration to start my business and that was how Charlotte Johnson’s Tuition was born. Prior to creating Charlotte Johnson’s Tuition, I had built up a range of experience by: The qualifications I had at the time of creating the business was: During the first two years of Charlotte Johnson’s Tuition in Derby, I worked with a wide range of students; this included students studying for their GCSE’s, students studying for their PhD and students within the Primary/Secondary sector. After a move to Ipswich in 2013, the business carried on as normal but on a smaller scale up until 2015. When demand became too great, I left my full time customer facing role to focus on Charlotte Johnson’s Tuition full time and to carry out volunteering to expand my professional development. The current goal for the business is to keep the Facebook page content updated and to provide helpful tips to parents who may have no idea about SATs or the Eleven Plus exams.
